The Samba bus is a legend. All-around glazing, tasteful two-tone paintwork, the large folding sunroof and numerous chrome decorations made it desirable to millions of fans all over the world.

It was particularly popular in the USA, where it was initially used by wealthy urban families as a second car for country trips. Years later, it became a cult vehicle for the Woodstock generation—with the “Peace” sign on the front in place of the VW logo.

The Samba on display is the millionth Volkswagen Transporter.
