A. General Terms and Conditions
1. INFORMATION PRIOR TO PURCHASE
The purchase of admission tickets, annual passes, vouchers, merchandise, and other paid services of the Volkswagen AutoMuseum Foundation, as well as all other products/services offered through the website, is subject to a fee. The prices for each product/service (including taxes), stated in euros, and the value of all applicable promotions and discounts are indicated on the website at all times.
2. Order Process / Conclusion of Contract
The customer’s order with the Volkswagen AutoMuseum Foundation constitutes an offer to conclude a contract. The Volkswagen AutoMuseum Foundation shall immediately confirm receipt of the order (order confirmation) to the customer by electronic means. However, the contract is only concluded upon written acceptance, delivery of the ordered goods, or performance of the service.
3. RIGHT OF WITHDRAWAL
If you are a consumer (i.e. a natural person who places the order for a purpose that is not predominantly attributable to their commercial or independent professional activity), you are legally entitled to withdraw your order in accordance with the following provisions.
Please note: There is no right of withdrawal under the provisions governing distance contracts pursuant to § 312g (2) no. 9 of the German Civil Code (BGB) in the case of services related to leisure activities, if the contract provides for a specific date or a specific period for performance. Online admission tickets purchased for a specific date or a specific period are therefore excluded from the right of withdrawal. Instructions on the Right of Withdrawal for Products and Services Not Excluded from the Right of Withdrawal. You may withdraw your contractual declaration within 14 days without stating any reasons.
The withdrawal period begins, in the case of services, on the day the contract is concluded, and in the case of goods, on the day you, or a third party designated by you who is not the carrier, take possession of the goods. To exercise your right of withdrawal, you must inform us,
Volkswagen AutoMuseum Foundation
Dieselstraße 35, 38446 Wolfsburg
E-mail: info(at)automuseum-volkswagen.de
of your decision to withdraw from this contract by means of a clear declaration (e.g., a letter sent by post or an e-mail). You may use the model withdrawal form attached in the appendix for this purpose, but its use is not mandatory. To comply with the withdrawal period, it is sufficient to send the declaration of withdrawal before the withdrawal period has expired. Consequences of Withdrawal In the event of a valid withdrawal, we shall reimburse you for all payments that we have received from you, including delivery costs (except for the additional costs arising from your choosing a different type of delivery than the cheapest standard delivery offered by us), without undue delay and at the latest within fourteen days from the day on which we receive notice of your withdrawal. For this repayment, we will use the same means of payment that you used in the original transaction, unless expressly agreed otherwise with you; in no case will you be charged any fees due to this repayment. If you requested that the services begin during the withdrawal period, you shall pay us an appropriate amount corresponding to the proportion of the services already provided up to the point at which you inform us of the exercise of your right of withdrawal in relation to this contract, compared with the total scope of the services provided for in the contract. You must return or hand over the goods received to us without undue delay and in any event no later than fourteen days from the day on which you notify us of your withdrawal from this
contract. The deadline is met if you dispatch the goods before the expiry of the fourteen-day period. In the case of merchandise products, the customer shall bear the direct costs of return shipment. The goods must be sent back by post within 14 days of receipt to:

4. LIABILITY – Volkswagen AutoMuseum Foundation
1. The Volkswagen AutoMuseum Foundation shall be liable without limitation in cases of intent and gross negligence, as well as in cases of injury to body, life, and health, and in cases of violation of the Product Liability Act. For material and financial damages caused by negligence, the Volkswagen AutoMuseum Foundation shall only be liable if an essential contractual obligation has been breached; however, liability shall be limited to the damage foreseeable at the time of conclusion of the contract and typical for the contract (essential contractual obligations are those obligations that characterize the contract and on which the customer may rely).
2. To the extent that the liability of the Volkswagen AutoMuseum Foundation is excluded or limited, this shall also apply to its governing bodies, employees, representatives, and vicarious agents.
3. The Volkswagen AutoMuseum Foundation shall not be liable for theft, loss, or damage to your personal belongings caused by third parties, in particular by other customers, occurring on the premises of the Volkswagen AutoMuseum Foundation. This shall not apply if the conduct of the third party is attributable to the Volkswagen AutoMuseum Foundation and the Volkswagen AutoMuseum Foundation is itself at fault.
5. DATA PROTECTION
The Volkswagen AutoMuseum Foundation processes all personal data relating to the business relationship with the customer on the basis of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other applicable data protection provisions. The policies for compliance with the provisions for the protection of privacy are set out in the Volkswagen AutoMuseum Foundation’s Privacy Policy.
6. APPLICABLE LAW and Jurisdiction Agreement
1. German law shall apply exclusively, to the exclusion of the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG), unless mandatory consumer protection provisions require the application of another law.
2. For customers who are not consumers, the exclusive place of jurisdiction shall be Wolfsburg.
B. SPECIAL CONDITIONS
1. Admission Tickets
1. An admission ticket (day ticket or annual pass) entitles the holder solely to enter the Volkswagen AutoMuseum Foundation.
2. Annual passes are valid for 12 months and are personalized. The validity period of the annual pass begins with the first visit upon redemption at the ticket office, but no later than 2 months after the online purchase.
3. The annual pass is personalized during the first visit to the Volkswagen AutoMuseum Foundation and may thereafter only be used by this specific person. The annual pass is valid only in conjunction with an official identification document.
4. Your admission ticket is valid for the date or period indicated on the ticket and during the opening hours of the Volkswagen AutoMuseum Foundation.
5. Additional paid services of the Volkswagen AutoMuseum Foundation can only be purchased in connection with an admission ticket.
6. Please do not tear, alter, or photocopy your admission ticket (hereinafter “damage”). In such cases, you may be denied entry to the Volkswagen AutoMuseum Foundation. A refund of the ticket price is excluded. This does not apply to consumers if the customer is not responsible for the damage.
7. The customer is responsible for ensuring that the admission tickets provided to them are legible at the access control point, either in printed form or on a smartphone, etc., and that they present the ticket at the entrance on the day of their visit.
8. Day tickets may only be used once. Each day ticket entitles the holder to ONE ENTRY ONLY to the Volkswagen AutoMuseum Foundation. Once validated, the ticket cannot be reused at a later time. The user of the day ticket may be different from the purchaser and account holder printed on the ticket.
9. If you need to leave the Volkswagen AutoMuseum Foundation temporarily, you must contact the staff at the information desk in the entrance area to arrange re-entry. If you leave the Volkswagen AutoMuseum Foundation without notice, you will not be granted re-entry on that day.
10. If you have purchased a ticket with special conditions (people with disabilities, people over 65 years of age, children, etc.), you must prove your eligibility at the time of entry with
an official document (ID, disability card, etc.).
11. If the customer uses services of the Volkswagen AutoMuseum Foundation without the appropriate entitlement, a contractual penalty equal to the original price of the service plus an additional flat fee of EUR 50 must be paid. This does not apply if the customer is not responsible for the unauthorized use. The Volkswagen AutoMuseum Foundation reserves the right to claim further damages, with the additional flat fee credited against such claims.
12. The customer is not entitled to expect that all services will actually be offered at the time of their visit, even if the Volkswagen AutoMuseum Foundation has indicated their availability in some form. The Volkswagen AutoMuseum Foundation will inform customers at the entrance area and in the news section of the museum in the event of long-term unavailability of a service. Short-term unavailability will be indicated at the location of the service. The individual availability of a service depends on customer demand and therefore cannot be guaranteed at all times. A (partial) refund of the ticket price is excluded.
13. Please keep your admission ticket with you during your stay at the Volkswagen AutoMuseum Foundation and present it upon request to any staff member. If you do not present your ticket upon request, the Volkswagen AutoMuseum Foundation reserves the right to expel you from the premises. A refund of the ticket price is excluded in such a case.
14. The commercial resale of admission tickets to third parties is prohibited.
15. You are hereby informed that the Volkswagen AutoMuseum Foundation or parts thereof may be closed due to bad weather, capacity limits, safety reasons, public health concerns, or other circumstances of force majeure. The Volkswagen AutoMuseum Foundation will make sure to inform you as far in advance as possible via the website and its official social media
profiles and to offer you a new date for the use of your admission ticket or an appropriate solution.
2. Other Events
For events with a specified time period, the customer must arrive at the designated collection points at least 10 minutes before the booked time. If the customer does not appear at the specified time, the Volkswagen AutoMuseum Foundation may carry out the service (e.g., guided tour) without the customer. The customer shall have no right to a refund.
3. Closure and Delayed Opening:
Certain shows, exhibitions, events, parades, and restaurants may open later than scheduled or may be closed due to renovation work, unfavorable weather conditions, or safety reasons. The customer is hereby informed that such closures may occur without prior notice and do not give rise to any claims for refunds or compensation.
4. Access Control and Prohibited Items, Vehicles, and Animals:
1. The Volkswagen AutoMuseum Foundation reserves the right, for security reasons, to inspect your clothing, coats, and personal belongings at the entrance, either visually or with the aid of special devices. If the customer refuses to comply with these rules, the Volkswagen AutoMuseum Foundation reserves the right to deny them entry.
2. The following items are prohibited from being brought into the Volkswagen AutoMuseum Foundation:
Illegal or dangerous substances, alcoholic beverages, glass bottles, dangerous objects (in particular defensive or offensive weapons of any kind and category), as well as all types of objects or toys that resemble firearms (e.g., laser guns, water pistols, etc.) and that could endanger the safety of customers or create the impression of such a danger.
Items that could disturb the peace of other customers (fan horns, loudspeakers, air horns).
Leisure items such as drones or other toys with remote or radio control.
Beverages or food of any kind. In cases of urgent necessity, food or beverages may be brought in. Urgent necessity exists if it is medically indicated (e.g., in the case of diabetes) or for particularly vulnerable groups (babies or people with extensive food intolerances). Food and beverages must be declared at the
entrance, and the special reasons must be credibly demonstrated to the Volkswagen AutoMuseum Foundation upon request.
Any items that the Volkswagen AutoMuseum Foundation may consider inappropriate or disruptive.
3. Customers in possession of prohibited items will be required to dispose of them before entering the Volkswagen AutoMuseum Foundation. It is noted that the Volkswagen AutoMuseum Foundation does not provide storage for items and that prohibited items cannot be retrieved later and will be disposed of.

The staff of the Volkswagen AutoMuseum Foundation are not authorized to store your belongings. Strollers and small carts are permitted, provided they do not exceed 92 cm x 132 cm; however, for safety reasons, special restrictions may be imposed on these for certain exhibitions or events.

6. Entry to the Volkswagen AutoMuseum with a vehicle and/or another electric mobility device is permitted for persons with reduced mobility who are unable to walk, or can only walk with difficulty, provided that these devices:
are suitable
are recognized as medical devices
are equipped with at least 3 wheels and are therefore stable, and
are designed to ensure mobility and support of the body.
These devices or vehicles may only be operated within the Volkswagen AutoMuseum at walking speed and therefore at a maximum of 6 km/h.
7. Animals: Animals are not permitted to enter the Volkswagen AutoMuseum Foundation, except in the cases listed below:
Assistance and guide dogs are permitted in the Volkswagen AutoMuseum Foundation. They must be kept on a leash and remain under the supervision of their owners. Their access may be restricted to certain exhibitions. Proof may be required. To ensure the comfort of other customers, the owner is obliged to ensure that the animals do not soil the Volkswagen AutoMuseum Foundation. The Volkswagen AutoMuseum Foundation reserves the right, in the event of soiling or disruptive behavior of the animal, to require the customer to remove the animal from the premises.
5. Clothing
1. Customers must wear appropriate clothing at all times, including shoes, a top, and a bottom garment.
2. We also reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to deny access to, or expel from, the Volkswagen AutoMuseum Foundation any persons whose clothing, make-up, or tattoos might shock our youngest customers or families, provoke interactions with other customers, or cause confusion due to costumes.
6. Minors
1. Children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by a family member aged at least 17 or by a legal guardian in order to purchase an admission ticket and to enter the Volkswagen AutoMuseum Foundation. They must be supervised at all times.
2. Groups of children visiting the Volkswagen AutoMuseum Foundation as part of supervised activities (e.g., school or kindergarten groups) must be accompanied in accordance with the applicable legal regulations.
7. Customer Conduct:
1. Theft, disturbance of public order, verbal and physical violence, insults, fraud, scams, drunkenness, violations of public decency, non-compliance with safety regulations and internal rules, racism, discriminatory remarks and behavior, etc., may prompt the Volkswagen AutoMuseum Foundation to take appropriate measures, i.e., to notify law enforcement authorities, file a complaint, or expel the customer from the Volkswagen AutoMuseum Foundation, without giving rise to any claims for compensation or damages.
For safety reasons, inappropriate movement or running is prohibited.
2. Exhibits may not be touched by customers.
3. Smoking is prohibited in the Volkswagen AutoMuseum Foundation. This provision also applies to e-cigarettes.
4. The sale of goods and/or services inside the Volkswagen AutoMuseum Foundation, as well as the distribution of leaflets, brochures, posters, and other printed material by customers, is expressly prohibited. The resale and/or purchase of admission tickets from street vendors is prohibited.
5. We ask you to keep the premises and facilities clean in order not to impair the enjoyment and comfort of other customers.
6. Pictures, videos, audio recordings, or photographs of a customer taken on the premises of the Volkswagen AutoMuseum Foundation may only be used for personal and non- commercial purposes, unless prior express written consent has been obtained from the Volkswagen AutoMuseum Foundation.
8. Prohibition of Entry
1. The Volkswagen AutoMuseum Foundation further reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to deny access to, or expel from, the Volkswagen AutoMuseum Foundation any persons whose behavior could endanger the safety of other customers, staff members, or the exhibitions and events.
2. The Volkswagen AutoMuseum Foundation reserves the right to refuse entry to, or expel from, the Volkswagen AutoMuseum Foundation any persons…
a. who are under the influence of alcohol or intoxicating substances,
b. who suffer from a notifiable or communicable disease within the meaning of the Infection Protection Act, from an open wound, or from contagious illnesses.
3. The Volkswagen AutoMuseum Foundation further reserves the right to expel customers from the Volkswagen AutoMuseum Foundation who touch exhibits.
9. Restriction and Evacuation of the Volkswagen AutoMuseum Foundation:
1. The Volkswagen AutoMuseum Foundation reserves the right, in cases where the number of customers is too high, for safety reasons, or in the event of force majeure, to restrict or deny access to the Volkswagen AutoMuseum Foundation.
2. If the customer has purchased a dated day ticket and is denied access for reasons not attributable to them, they shall receive an undated day ticket, which they may redeem on any chosen day. If being issued an undated day ticket is unreasonable (e.g., due to the customer’s place of residence being far away), the Volkswagen AutoMuseum Foundation shall, upon the customer’s request, refund the price of the day ticket. The reasons making the issuance of an undated day ticket unreasonable must be credibly demonstrated by the customer upon request of the Volkswagen AutoMuseum Foundation.
10. Left-Behind Items
The Volkswagen AutoMuseum Foundation reserves the right to dispose of or otherwise deal at its reasonable discretion with items left behind that have an estimated value of less than EUR 1,000. This does not apply if the customer’s ownership is clearly identifiable from the item left behind (e.g., identity card). Items with an estimated value of more than EUR 1,000 or with particular non-material value (identity documents) will be handled by the Volkswagen AutoMuseum Foundation in an appropriate manner in cooperation with the competent authorities. The customer shall reimburse the Volkswagen AutoMuseum Foundation for reasonable expenses incurred for the safekeeping, return, or identification of the customer.
RIGHT OF WITHDRAWAL
Right of Withdrawal
You have the right to withdraw from this contract within fourteen days without giving any reason.
The withdrawal period is fourteen days from the day on which you, or a third party designated by you who is not the carrier, took possession of the goods.
To exercise your right of withdrawal, you must inform us (name, address, telephone, email) by means of a clear statement (e.g., a letter sent by post or an email) of your decision to withdraw from this contract. You may use the attached sample withdrawal form for this purpose, although this is not mandatory.
To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your notification of exercising the right of withdrawal before the withdrawal period expires.
Consequences of Withdrawal
If you withdraw from this contract, we will refund to you all payments we have received from you, including delivery costs (except for any additional costs resulting from your choice of a delivery method other than the least expensive standard delivery offered by us), without undue delay and at the latest within fourteen days from the day on which we receive notification of your withdrawal from this contract. For this refund, we will use the same means of payment that you used for the original transaction, unless expressly agreed otherwise with you; in no event will you be charged any fees for this refund.
We may withhold the refund until we have received the goods back or until you have provided proof that you have returned the goods, whichever occurs first.
You must return or hand over the goods to us without undue delay and in any event no later than fourteen days from the day on which you notify us of your withdrawal from this contract. The deadline is met if you send the goods before the expiry of the fourteen-day period.
You bear the direct costs of returning the goods. You are only liable for any diminished value of the goods if this loss of value results from handling them in a manner not necessary for checking their quality, properties, and functioning.
Exclusion of the Right of Withdrawal
The right of withdrawal does not apply to:
Contracts for the delivery of goods which are not prefabricated and for the production of which an individual selection or decision by the consumer is decisive, or which are clearly tailored to the personal needs of the consumer.
