Friends Circle

Once Volkswagen, always Volkswagen: This doesn't only apply to the many loyal customers, but especially to the employees.

The love and connection to this brand remains for many even after their active professional life. A fact that the AutoMuseum is particularly pleased about. In 2018, 17 former employees of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles joined together to form the Friends Circle of the AutoMuseum Volkswagen Foundation.

The number of members has since increased to 39 and it's not just made up of "commercial vehicle enthusiasts" anymore – they've also gained support from the passenger car and research sectors.

Today, within the Friends Circle, people from very different specialities come together, all united by one thing: their enthusiasm to get stuck in, to tinker, to wrench, and to collectively ensure that the AutoMuseum can consistently captivate its visitors with new operational exhibits.

To make this possible, the Friends Circle has set up a professional workshop,which is continuously expanded and developed. The so-called 'construction hours' take place here weekly. The main focuses of their work are:

• Repair and maintenance of the exhibits
• Providing technical expertise for exhibits and components
• Setting up a database

THE NAME SAYS IT ALL.

Alongside the ample work, socialising holds great importance in the Friends Circle, following the age-old tradition of the "commercial vehicle enthusiasts". A regular get-together is held monthly, and occasionally, there might be a barbecue afternoon. After all, a shared passion for classic Volkswagen models truly bonds people together.
